The open call Signal Calling, organized by the Signal Festival and PrusaLab, Josef Průša’s prototype workshop, knows its winner. It is Kryštof Brůha, among others, the laureate of last year’s Jindřich Chalupecký Award. In his works, he explores specific environments, from environmental to technological and virtual, and focuses on the influences acting on them and their overall transformation over time. As part of the 12th edition of the festival, he will develop and present the art project Audire Fluctus, which moves between a light object, an interactive work, and a data sculpture. The installation will be produced in collaboration with PrusaLab.

The open call attracted 28 projects consisting of individuals, artist pairs, groups, and one artist studio. 6 candidates advanced to the second round: the Environmental Design Studio (Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art), Vojtěch Leischner, Linda Procházka, Jan Vlček & Jan Picko, Vladimír Burian & Daniel Pluskal and Pavel Liška. Their project presentations took place at the end of April. Unfortunately, none of these proposals, even after their presentation in the second round, sufficiently convinced the committee consisting of representatives of Signal Festival and the creative studio PrusaLab. The main reason was the lack of compatibility of the art installation proposals with the specific location and the overall character of the Signal Festival.

The organizers decided to invite a young author and experimenter Kryštof Brůha to participate. His proposed project fulfilled the necessary conditions and expectations of an art installation in a public space within the festival. The purpose of the open call is, among other things, to support young artists and their artistic research connected with the appropriate presentation of works in public space. Both Signal Festival and PrusaLab agreed that thanks to the collaboration with Kryštof Brůha on the Audire Fluctus project, the mission of Signal Calling will be sufficiently fulfilled.

The open call Signal Calling, organized by the Signal Festival and PrusaLab, Josef Průša’s prototype workshop, knows its winner.
