As you know, despite all our efforts, we had to unfortunately cancel Signal Festival 2020 in response to the new coronavirus measures. The eighth year of our festival of digital and creative culture had nevertheless at least a symbolic opening. On Thursday, October 15, at 7 pm, ie at the time when the festival would begin, we lit up the Petrin Lookout Tower. The Lighthouse installation by the visual artist Krištof Kintera, which you can remember from the first year of Signal, came to life again, moreover with new symbolism. This work newly represented the hope of Czech culture, with which we officially joined the week of Majáky české kultury (Lighthouses of Czech Culture) activities.
Two weeks later – on October 28, – we lit a brand new Troja footbridge on the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State. At the same time, we also symbolically thanked the capital city of Prague, in whose public spaces we have been operating for a long time. The Troja footbridge is a new bridge connecting Císařský ostrov (Imperial Island) and Troja, which was recently opened in silence.
