The 11th Signal Festival with the theme Ecosystems: Exploration is quickly approaching. Mark the date well, October 12-15, and in the meantime join us for an introduction of the popular route through the centre.
TIP: Start your exploration at Kunsthalle Praha with an audiovisual project by Lunchmeat exploring abandoned industrial complexes
The first children’s installation
The 3dsense studio is behind the creation of the interactive Signal Playground: Rainbow in Hybernská Campus, which takes children and adults alike into a world of fantasy.
Art of Coffee
Along the route, you will also discover the Siemens EQube installation, a fusion between man-made abstract art and the machine precision of a computer, created by the Innovate studio and Alex J. Jindrák. It was created in commercial collaboration with Siemens home appliances and is not part of the Signal Festival’s curated content.
Around the squares
Jan Kaláb‘s Irideus Bulla object is based on strict geometric rules and yet playfully entices the visitor to think and try to see the invisible. You can find it in front of the PALLADIUM on the Republic Square.
On Old Town Square, Dagmar Šubrtová will present the installation Axis Mundi – Axis of the World – symbolically connecting several spheres and inviting us to reflect on the relationship and interconnectedness of energy sources across time and space. The patron of the installation is ČEZ Group.
Music for all the senses
Michal Rataj and Jan Trojan deal with disappearing ecosystems and diversity, symbolized by the blurring of sounds in technological noise, in their audiovisual work in the Church of the Salvator. The installation is illustrated by the scenographic realisation of Dragan Stojcevski.
The popular video mapping can be enjoyed this year, among others, at the Municipal Library in Prague, where a projection inspired by the world of books, pictograms and symbols will be presented by Hungarian artist András László Nagy.
The Canadian studio Iregular with its interactive installation As Water Falls will draw attention to the energy and immense power of this natural phenomenon, which in this case has been completely virtually generated. The PPF Foundation is the patron of the installation.
You can end the tour with the monumental installation Kaluže (Puddles) by Václav Mlynář & MONUMENT Office, located in the parking lot of the Andaz Prague. To complete the atmosphere of festival Prague, we recommend going to the ZEM restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, where you will have an extraordinary experience like at the entire Signal Festival.
