About project

The Reality Check audio-visual installation builds on Greta Thunberg’s famous speech at the UN summit and Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator. While Chaplin’s parody ominously predicted what came next, Thunberg introduced authentic emotions into the world of global crisis, entirely wrapped up in media, fake news and political hypocrisy, which, however arrogant, sentimental or dramatic they may have seemed, accurately correspond to the gravity of our situation. The 4-channel video installation places the viewers in the midst of the information-loaded world of media and film. They are left overwhelmed by the transmission of information and news which must be carefully considered before it can be trusted.
