Nohista (FR) → Cyclique / 2014

About project

Cyclique is a work in situ, straddling digital minimalism and monumental kinetic installation. Inflated with helium and equipped with LEDS, 256 balloons form a matrix of luminous spheres above the ground. The structure of this very low-resolution screen constantly changes balloons moving at the discretion of air currents, immersing the audience in a synaesthetic landscape, where the sound becomes conductor. Cyclique was created in cooperation with Maxime Houot.

Artist

Nohista is the pseudonym used by French artist Bruno Ribeiro. He creates audio-visual performances, interactive installations, and video and soundscapes for theatrical and dance presentations. In each of his projects, he creates multisensory ecosystems, where body, images, sound, light, and scenes continuously overlap in synchronized choreography. Since 2009, his work has been included in the programmes of renowned festivals in countries including Canada, Brazil, Peru, Switzerland, and Poland.
